Matoke

Matoke from Bukoba (in the Kagera Region, northwestern Tanzania) is a traditional dish of the Haya people. Made from Local green cooking bananas (different varieties grown around Lake Victoria), Beans or groundnut (peanut) sauce, Sometimes smoked or fresh fish from Lake Victoria and Minimal spices the flavor is natural and rich, soft and Slightly sweet but mostly starchy.
